Halloween events in Baltimore

Even though Halloween is a on a Monday this year, don’t let that stop you from dressing up and having a scary good time the weekend before! Baltimore has events for any age, whether you are looking for a costume party, bar crawl or kid-friendly festival, there is something for everyone.

Oct. 29 – Port Discovery: Halloween Event
12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This event is a volunteer opportunity organized by the Red Cross Club here at UMBC, where you can go to Port Discovery in Baltimore (transportation provided) to help out with a fun Halloween event. More information can be found by emailing the club through umbcredcross.weebly.com.

Oct. 29 – 17th Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival
3:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

This year’s parade and festival is brought to Patterson Park by Creative Alliance’s Artesanas Mexicana and will be in the tradition of Dia De Los Muertos, the Mexican holiday celebration meaning Day of the Dead. The festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. with activities where guests can make their own hand drum lanterns, go on hayrides, eat, drink and listen to live bands. There will be a children’s costume contest and an activity called “Pop Up Costume Yoga,” followed by the parade and finale with Mariachi Rey Azteca. Anyone can dress up, bring or make a lantern and walk in the parade.

Oct. 29 – 8th Annual Federal Hill-O-Ween Bar Crawl
5:00 p.m. – midnight

Whether you dress up or not, this “Hill-O-Ween” brought to Fed Hill by Lindy Promotions, Miller Lite and the Federal Hill Hospitality Association is saving the tricks and offering treats for guests 21+ with an annual bar crawl. Including 14 Federal Hill establishments, the night will be filled with $3 – $4 beers, food and shooter specials and costume contests. Registration/Check-In will take place in Mother’s parking lot from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Oct. 29 – Halloween ’16 Dead or Alive
8:00 p.m.

Advertised as “Baltimore’s biggest Halloween Party,” this party hosted by Mix 106.5 at Power Plant Live! will include dancing, two guest DJs and access to all associated bars. In addition to a “HUGE” Costume Contest as described by Power Plant Live!, there will also be over $5,000 in cash and other potential prizes.

Oct. 27 – 31 – The Nevermore Haunt

Located in the Old Town neighborhood of Baltimore, this new 19th century-themed indoor haunted attraction hopes to “terrify and entertain guests with a unique twist on our favorite Halloween tradition.” All information about the attraction and what is/is not allowed can be found on their website: https://thenevermorehaunt.com.
